HERITAGE
William Morris (1834-1896), artist, philosopher, and political theorist, was one of the most influential designers of the Arts & Crafts movement. Through his company, Morris & Co., he produced some of the most exciting textiles and wallpapers of his era adored the world over.

As custodians of William Morris’s original company, at Morris & Co. we strive to uphold the ethos and distinguished aesthetic of our founder in everything that we do. Always guided by Morris’s creative intuition, we honour his legacy in the present, producing authentic versions of his original designs alongside new interpretations inspired by the treasures in our archive.
Befitting of his character and impact on the Arts & Crafts movement, the archive sits in homage to Morris, 160 years of historical artistry, perfectly preserved and activated by our designers today. The archive is a living dialogue of design and a proud reminder of our heritage.
